Disclaimer: Paramount owns Star Trek. I am borrowing them, sort of (I'm not sure they'd claim these guys). There is no possibility of making money on this, just hopefully making a few folks laugh.
Dedicated to jonk who asked for stories with peeps (or something like that).
This is whimsy, not beta or even particularly proof read, so I apologize for errors. Tell me; I can try to fix them.
Summary: Kirk needs his peeps. How will Spock keep him happy?
I Need My Peeps
"But, Spock, I need my peeps," whined an unhappy voice from the bedroom.
"Jim, please, we do not have any chickens or even similar animal products in the house."
Kirk waddled out through the bedroom door and slowly lowered himself onto the couch. "Not chickens. If you'd listened you'd know what I need. Why don't you listen to me anymore?"
"You were talking with your mouthful, again. I must have misunderstood you. Please repeat the pertinent details," came the almost placid, resonant tone. The strain of attempting to placate Kirk showed, however, in the tightness of the Vulcan's shoulders.
"What I need are peeps, not chickens. They're marshmallowy things, with sugar coating."
"I do not believe marshmallows are on your diet, Jim."
"But, I need them." Kirk looked up sadly at Spock. "You just don't understand these cravings. When I read that message about ancient uses for peeps and I remembered all the times my Mom tried to get us to try them, I knew I had to have one. Can't you get me just one? Just this time?"
"I have already procured popcorn, pizza, chocolate ice cream, and spinach with Roquefort dressing for you this week. I do not believe you should feel uncared for."
"I'm sorry, love. I don't mean to be a burden. I know you care for me," Kirk whimpered. "I'll try to be better to you."
"Thank you, Jim. Would you care for some herbal tea?"
"I don't want tea," he cried, then attempted to rise. "Help me up!"
Spock reached over, took Kirk's hand, and tugged. He helped his lover to his feet and attempted to pull him to him, but the Human resisted.
"Don't touch me." Kirk ran, well waddled, to the bedroom and lay down.
Some minutes later Spock heard the unmistakable sounds of crying coming from the bedroom and hurried in to attempt to placate Kirk. He sat down beside him on the bed, stroked his hair.
"What may I do to help you?"
"I just feel so sad that I make you so unhappy."
"I am not unhappy. In fact, I could be said to be quite happy, were I not Vulcan."
"Oh, Spock. Can you forgive me for asking for so much? I know I wear you out."
"It will only be another 6 weeks, Jim. And our daughter is worth it. You know I love you both."
"Are you sure? You aren't just trying to make me feel better?"
"I am sure." Spock lay down beside Kirk, pulled him close and wrapped his arms around him.
Kirk's expression lightened, and he turned his face toward Spock, "Want to prove it?"
Spock looked surprised, then bent toward Kirk. He kissed him slowly and thoroughly, ran one hand over the protruding belly and below. "Yes, Jim. I would like to prove it."
Kirk snuggled closer to the warm body, then slid one hand inside the Vulcan's loose fitting robe. He caressed the warm skin inside and won a low moan.
And as the Vulcan shifted to kiss the soft skin of one shoulder, Kirk finally spoke his desire, "But what I needed was a Peep!"
