Many of the following reviews appeared in Deccan Chronicle, a local English daily. The folks at the Chronicle edited every one of my reviews, usually because they needed a couple of lines of space, often gratuitously, and very occasionally -- let it be said -- to actually improve my submission :) The versions published here are the ones I sent them, not the ones that actually appeared in print.
