100 Days Fan Fiction Contest First Runner-Up:

"Seven Rulers."

by Strategist, Antithesis, whatever.

We see a dark room, and in it, a circular table with seven chairs around it.

Seven people emerge from the shadows and seat themselves around the table.

An old man of about 70 begins to speak. His voice leaves his mouth like smoke out of a smokerÕs mouth, filling the air. The look of distraction never leaves his eyes, even as he slowly stands to his overweight legs, his obviously expensive suit.

"Gentlemen. Lady. Let us attend to our first matters of business."

The others come to life as he speaks. "IÕll speak first." Spoke a middle-aged man with a thick German accent. "Three upstart internet hacker associations who have attempted to hack our uber accounts, for which I am responsible." He said, a tone of superiority in his voice.

"Why do you bring this up? To illustrate your idiocy in the matter of not being able to catch them?" said the old man.

"No. To let you know that we tracked them down. Using the salvaged alien brain interface technology to hack into their pain centers and tortured them to death in 15 seconds. We also engineered a shut down of the internet for a half hour so we could install those new anti-hacker stalker programs. We now have control of all inter net activity in Europe."

"Very good." Said the old man, seeming content. "Other news?"

"We just shot down a large extraterrestrial ship over the Pacific." Said a young looking Asian man. "We were able to salvage some unique bio-vaccines which seem to have been geared to cure the most prolific virus and cancers on earth, A.I.D.S. included."

"And?" said the old man. "I was wondering if we where going to fry the samples outright, or keep cancer cures, since we didnÕt create cancer. Not all of them, anyway."

"Keep the cancer protocols. Burn the A.I.D.S. cure. We already have one. Other news?"

"Yes." Said a very displeased sounding Frenchman. "The Authority."

"Computer?" Said the Oriental man. "Monitor mode in Master Throne Room. Access recent data and keep related data ready."

The dark room flared up as holographic screens began to rotate around and through the table, displaying a figure of the world prominently in the middle. Screens showing the AuthorityÕs actions in Singapore and Russia are shown, along with various interviews.

"Them again?" the old man exclaimed. "Dammit, canÕt these uppity little hippies learn their place? They've set back our program to control the post-human population by ten or so more."

"They recently chased Russia out of a satellite, purely by intimidation." said a man with a very British accent. "That alone justifies action."

"Still canÕt believe this kind of thing is happening." said a woman with a slight Canadian accent in the back. "They were just supposed to kick the shit out of the latest bastard we created for them and let everyone know the world is just fine."

The French man speaks up. "Our 'Absolute Truth' subliminals were toasted when those bastards took Singapore out of our puppet's control. I had good things planned for Singapore."

"Both of you shut up," said the Oriental man, "as is, they have not done enough to truly change things."

"They are doing things to warrant intervention though," said the british man. "ItÕs only a matter of time before that Spica bitch drops a nano bomb and starts another Nevada Garden, or that Dutch crack whore re-forests the whole damn planet. We had enough problems with nanotech and those damn doctors when we had Bendix ventilate those Changers bastards."

"Speaking of which," said the Canadian woman, "How come we havenÕt sent Stormwatch Yellow up there to deal with them yet?"

"You dumb bitch," said the Frenchmen, "remember when we sent our German friendÕs Ubermensch society up there? They were turned into bone powder on impact with the damn thing, and we lost the revenue equivalent of Greenland and all of Africa combined. I couldÕve bought another virgin clone of Christina Aguilera for that much."

The old man spoke up. "The real thing is much better, Troy. Now, the Replacement Authority, do they fit the specifications, Won?"

The Oriental man spoke up. "Yes. Totally obedient. Perfect for any amoral mission we choose. I ran a V.R. simulation where they are ordered to decapitate the President and have their way with his daughter. They agreed to the mission and carried through before I could properly animate little G.W.Õs scream of fear. YouÕd be amazed what those bastards came up with for Jenna, though. The female ones really had a go at her."

The Canadian Woman shudders. "I know. I watched."

Won speaks up again. "Suzette, do you really have such a problem with that kind of thing?"

"Shut up." Said the old man. "Troy."

"Yes, Drew."

"Did you find a viable way onto the Carrier for our subject?"

"Yes, sir."

"Good.....Won. The Replacement Authority is up and running?"

"Other than some problems with violence, they're ready to go." "What problems?" "We havenÕt gotten them to achieve genocide and still not think about ten minutes later without nostalgia."

"WeÕll work on that later. Genocide isnÕt necessary yet. I can only think of seven people I need turned into fertilizer at the moment. Suzette, open me a channel to that fucking orgy hole in Georgia that he calls a home. We need to talk to Seth again."
