Nathan Brubaker's shocking story
Nathan Brubaker was a member of a FBI elite crime solving unit, until he mysteriously dropped off from the face of this earth. Now for the first time, he tells us his story.

Atlanta General Hospital. I'm here to follow up on a shady lead that was months in coming. Finally something conclusive! Only a few moments and then I'll interview the man who was missing for three years. Lawyer, ex-detective Nathan Brubaker was a member of FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force until the May of 1997. During that month he suddenly vanished into thin air.
He looks tired and anxious. Nothing personal, he explains: his wife Michelle is due to arrive at any moment. I hurry on to start with my questions.
"Mr Brubaker... where have you been these past three years?" He shoots an agitated look in my direction. Finally he starts.
"Um... you'll probably not believe this but, the thing is. I was kidnapped by aliens." I'm astonished. A few moments pass without either of us saying anything. I'm beginning to wonder if he's lying. He was found in the middle of Hurt Park in a confused state of mind. According to my understanding, they have given him a fair of dose of medication. Before I chalk up the alien story to Prozac, he continues.
"It was the strangest thing. We were working on the Robin Poole case, the lady who used venom, right? I was at my desk reading the files, when all of a sudden... this big spot of light is on my desk, from above. I look up but I can't see the source. I glance around me if anyone else notices that ray of light but they all just walk around, don't pay attention. So the next, I realise I'm being pulled out of my chair into the sky." A little pause. "How many years have I been gone? Three?" I nod. He looks out of the window and says nothing.
"Mr Brubaker... can you find any reason as to why they chose you?" His eyes look at me and he chuckles an ironic laugh.
"No, Miss Jadene, I can't."
"What did they... want you to do?" I ask hesitantly.
"Games. From children's games to chess, all kinds. Now I'm addicted to Candyland."
"Why is that?"
"Because they wouldn't let me play with it as much as I wanted to." We are interrupted by a nurse who tells Mr Brubaker his wife has arrived. I thank him for the interview. At the door I'm met by a beautiful woman. I exit, she goes in. As I'm about to walk into the elevator a man bumps into me and whispers: "You the Brubaker interviewer? Remember: Marcus Payton" and hurries along. Are there more secrets in that specialised crime task force than one might expect? I have the topic of my next scoop.

Special journalist S. Kronish on making the series lighter:
The show's visual style and Walker's wardrobe will be lightened up as well. "She won't always wear clothes that make her look like she's going to a funeral."
Comment: Wow, what a stroke of genius! The series is dark psychologically. Yup, lightening up the visual style and wardrobe will take care of that aspect. No need to worry about the effect that showing more of the serial killers will have on the atmosphere of the series.
