Jack: "Now this is interesting."
Sam: "Shut up. You're gonna answer my questions now. Why ME? Why did you choose me?" (still pointing the gun at him)
Jack: "Because I know you and you know me."
Sam: "I DON'T know you, don't you ever say that you know me!"
Jack: "Oh, why not? (starts slowly to walk around the room) We are alike, Samantha. I'm the only one for you."
Sam: "NO." (she follows him still aiming)
Jack: "I'm the only one who can show you who you really are, you only need me. You didn't need Tom or Coop, and you won't need Bai--" (at this Sam moves suddenly closer to him)
Sam: "Shut up, SHUT UP! (starting to cry, voice breaking) You don't know what I need, I needed him, I still do."
Jack: "Yes, he was there for you when I killed Tom and Coop. He was between us, he was in the way. So I had to get rid of him."
Sam: "I... I loved him. And you're gonna pay now." (gains focus again)
Jack: (intrigued) "How? Are you going to shoot me?"
Sam: "No. I'm not like you."
Jack: "His last word was Sam, are you not going to avenge him? (trying to get a rise out of her) He loved you and you loved him. You're not going to kill me even for him?"
Sam: "If I killed you, I'd become more like you. You will NEVER have me. I've got you now, and you are going away for _a_ very long time."
Jack: "Oh? Lucas has already confessed to the murders I've made... and there are no more bullets in the gun. (Sam checks the gun, no bullets left) So, looks like we're not going anywhere." (Sam puts the gun on the table and steps back. She gazes at Jack with a blank look, goes to a corner to sit down and draws her feet up under her chin. Nothing is said.)
