Used in tonics to treat; liver disorders, diabetes and amemia. Useful diuretic. Diabetics will benefit from drinking strawberry tea. Place 4-5 fresh leaves in one cup boiling water. Steep 15 minutes. Strain and drink. Diabetics are said to benefit from tea made from wild carrots (Queen Anne's Lace). Place several blossoms in one cup boiling water and steep 10 minutes. Strain and drink several cups daily. Skins of green bean pods are said to contain substances that are related to insulin. Place one quart green bean pods in about four quarts of water, cook until soft. Strain pods from the liquid. Drink three cups daily with meals. CAUTION Diabetics and hypoglycemics should not take calendula in any form internally. It drops blood sugar level drastically and is potentially very dangerous. Treatmemt for High Blood Sugar Put one teaspoon dried and crushed blueberry leaves (vaccinium speices) in one cup boiling water. Steep 15 minutes and drink. Strain and drink every 6 hours. Tea to Improve Sugar Tolerance Pumpkin seeds, peeled Fragrant Valerian root Bilberry leaves Mix in equal parts. Steep one tablespoon in one cup boiling-hot water. Take one cup in the couse of a day, unsweetened, in mouthful doses. Rx Mix bilberry leaves in equal parts with one or two of the following; Bean pods Nettle Milfoil European centaury Dandelion Blackberry leaves Parboil one tablespoon, in one half cup water for ten minutes.
