Use one teaspoon crushed seed to one half to one cup boiling water. Steep ten minutes and strain. Take one to one and a half cups during the day. A mouthful at a time. Decoction For colic; boil 1 tablespoon seed in one half pint milk for 10 minutes; strain and drink hot. Tincture To prepare; Add two ounce seed to one half quart brandy. Add some clean lemon peels and let stand in a sunny place for 20 days, then strain. Take 1 teaspoon at a time. Anise Water Boil 1/2 teaspoon seed in half pint of water, then strain. For Insomnia; Take a few seeds in a glass of milk before going to bed. Tea made from equal parts of anise, caraway and fennel is an excellent intestinal purifier.
