Snowmobiles... the Prequel
Vin and JD watched Buck and Chris gathered their overnight bags and headed for the door. "All right you two. Me an Buck should be back tomorrow afternoon. Ezra," Chris turned to look at him. "Since you are the most responsible, you will be in charge."
"Hey!" Vin protested loudly.
"And you," Chris nailed Vin with a stern glare. "are not to use the snowmobile while I'm away. Is that clear?"
"But why?"
"Because I don't trust you with any form of transportation. Just look at how many bureau cars you've destroyed let alone at your jeep." He kissed Vin. "Stay off it."
"Yes sir."
"That goes for you too JD." Buck added.
"Aw Buck I haven't destroyed nearly as many cars as Vin."
"Just the same...no snowmobile. An I expect ya ta behave while staying here with Vin and Ezra. Understand?"
"Yes Buck."
Both men kissed their boys goodbye and left.
Vin rubbed his hands together. "So, what do ya want ta do first?" He asked JD.
"Eat."
Vin smiled. "JD, ya jist read my mind."
10 minutes later, Ezra watched in disgust as Vin and JD polished off 4 sandwiches, 2 cokes, a box of ho-ho's and a bag of chips. "That was the most disgusting display of gluttony I've even had cause to witness."
"Huh?" JD asked.
"I think he jist said we were pigs." Vin answered.
Ezra put his arms around Vin. "My, my you are learning, aren't you?" He placed a soft kiss to his temple. "If you gentlemen will excuse me, I have an appointment with my mechanic. I will bring home our evening's repast upon my return."
Vin stood at the window watching the snowfall. "Man, this is the perfect weather for a snowmobile ride."
"Now Vin, ya heard Chris an Buck. We ain't allowed ta take it out."
"Yeah, but what they dont know wont hurt them."
"You're crazy, ya know that?"
Vin gave a wicked smile. "Yep. Ya comin''?"
"I don't know why I let ya talk me in ta these things." JD said as he put on his coat.
"Cause I so damn adorable...ya cain't say no!"
Ezra had just pulled up into the driveway when he saw two familiar figures pushing something across the yard. "Dear god!" He sputtered when he realized what it was.
"Vin, do you wish to experience an early demise?" Ezra started. His eyes widened when he saw the state the snowmobile was in. "What happened?" he ground out.
"Aw Ez, we's jist ridin' along when this deer jumped out in front of us. Had ta swerve ta avoid it an hit a tree."
"Are you two all right?"
"We's fine...at least until Chris and Buck find out."
"Maybe we can fix it before they get back." JD offered.
"JD, look at it! How we gonna fix that? With duct tape an paint?"
"Hey, don't get snappy with me...this was your idea!" JD retaliated.
"Gentlemen!" Ezra cut in to their bickering. "I think you may what to turn around."
Both boys spun around and froze. "C-Chris? W-What are ya doin' back?" Vin squeaked out. He was so busy trying to figure out how to hide this from Chris that he didn't hear him approach.
"Snow shut down the highway. Had ta turn back. Looks like it's a good thing I did." Chris growled.
"N-Now I cain 'splain..."
"I'm sure you can but I don't want to hear it." He grabbed Vin's arm and pulled him towards the house. "You are in BIG trouble little boy."
"As are you." Buck said sternly to JD. "Move!" He directed a swat to his rear.
"OW! Buck!"
"Don't 'Ow Buck' me...there's gonna be a lot more where that came from by the time this night's over. Go!"
Chris leaned against the counter looking sternly at the two boys in front of him. "What in the hell were you two doing? Did we just tell you not 3 hours ago to not take the snowmobile out?"
"Yes sir." JD and Vin responded simultaneously.
"Then why?" Buck asked.
"It was Vin's idea!" JD blurted.
Buck grabbed JD's chin. "So, ya didn't have ta go with 'em did ya?"
"No sir."
"Vin, go to our room. Now!" Chris looked at Buck. "Since ya aren't going to be able to get home, feel free to use the Den." That said, Chris headed upstairs.
"Ya heard the man. Den, Now!"
Vin stood in front of Chris, eyes downcast. "Vin, did I speak a foreign language when I said not to ride the snowmobile?"
"No sir."
"Then please, tell me why you willfully disobeyed me?"
"Aw hell Chris. The snow was perfect fer ridin' in. An everythin' woulda been fine if'n it weren't fer that damn deer."
"No it wouldn't have. Since you still would have been disobeying me. Wouldn't you?"
"Yes sir."
Chris unbuckled his belt. "Drop 'em and bend over."
Vin sighed. He knew he was in for the belt but was hoping Chris would have a change of heart. So much for wishful thinking. He lowered his jeans and boxers and laid over the pillows Chris piled at the foot of the bed.
"Why are you being punished?" Smack...slap...whap.
"Ow! Cause I disobeyed ya an took...Ouch!...the snowmobile out...Ooh!"
"Correct. Let's see of I can impress upon you the importance of doing as I tell you."
Slap...Whap...Smack... "Am I getting through to you?"
"Ouch! Yes...Ooh!...Yes sir...Ow!"
Smack... "You sure? I can keep doing this if ya need me to." ...Slap.
"Ow! N-no...I'm sure...Ouch! I understand." Vin sobbed.
Chris gave him five more lick before stopping. He put his belt back on and helped Vin stand up. "I'm s-sorry Chris." Vin cried. "I-I wont do it again...p-promise."
"Shh...it all right. I know." Chris soothed. Once Vin calmed down he helped him rearrange his clothes. "C'mon, I don't hear anything coming from the den. Guess Buck and JD are finished."
Vin followed Chris downstairs, wincing with every step.
When he arrived in the kitchen, he saw a noticeably contrite JD apologizing to Chris. Vin figured he owed the same to Buck. "Hey Bucklin. I's real sorry fer getting JD in ta trouble."
"S'okay Junior. Just don't do it again."
"Yes sir."
"Okay gentlemen." Ezra said as he headed towards the dining room bearing cartons of Chinese food. "Dinner is served."
The four men followed Ezra. Chris and Buck burst our laughing the minute they walked into the room.
Vin and JD took in the blow up chairs that were taking the place of their traditional seats. "Funny Ez, real funny." Vin smacked him on the back of the head as he walked by. "Jist remember, paybacks are a bitch."
