Creation

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Ok, this is just silly! ;)

On the first day, Joss created the slayer. She was blond and beautiful, and Joss endowed her with the strength and skill to rid the world of vampires, not to mention keen fashion sense. And he called the Slayer "Buffy."

Unfortunately he did not provide her with the gift of fighting off evil corporate types, and his vision was turned into a horribly silly and shallow movie co-starring Luke Perry.

It was not good.

On the second day, Joss created a town. This was no ordinary town, as it possessed both a mouth to Hell and very stupid people. In all his wisdom, Joss knew that this would be the perfect home for his Slayer. He named the town "Sunnydale".

But the very foolish people of his town provided no romantic interest for his leading lady.

It was not good.

On the third day, Joss created a vampire with a soul. He was tall, dark and handsome. He knew all about the new slayer, and was ready to aid her in the battle against the forces of darkness. He named the vampire "Angel".

But no WB romance can exist without angst, and so the Slayer's one true love came with a curse that would make the Slayer miserable.

It was not good.

On the fourth day, Joss created friends for the Slayer. They were a diverse group; a shy computer geek, a class clown, a popular snob, and a British librarian. With their help the Slayer was able to defeat evil and still lead a somewhat active social life. And he named the friends "The Scoobies."

Everyone knows that all work and no play makes for very dull television, and nobody would watch a show where the only place the characters could meet was the school library.

It was not good.

On the fifth day, Joss created a club. This was a place where the Scoobies could meet and have fun, as well as a place bad guys could decide to raid at a moment's notice. He called the club "The Bronze."

But there was still something missing.

It was not good.

On the sixth day, Joss created a man. He gave the man grace, charm, and wit, as well as a head full of spiky, color-changing hair. Around the man Joss formed a band to play at the Bronze, and a plot line involving lycanthropy. He named the man Oz.

Although this character was originally intended for a short episode arc, Joss soon found that he liked having the little fellow around. His deep insight and quick comebacks gave the show new life, and he helped to bring the shy computer geek out of her shell. So Joss decreed that the werewolf would stay.

On the seventh day (which was a Tuesday), at 8:00, Joss sat down to watch his creation.

And it was very, very good
