I recently finished reading "Tears of Rage" by John Walsh. Many of you probably know that he is the man who hosts America's Most Wanted. What you may not know is the reason he hosts the show and helped to start the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). John's son Adam was kidnapped and murdered several years ago, back when there was no way to coordinate a national search for missing children.
We have the technology to do something now, and you can help.
You may have noticed that I place a Java banner from the NCMEC at the bottom of several areas of my site. This banner flashes the pictures of 12 different missing children every week. Code for this banner is available at the NCMEC's webiste: www.missingkids.com . An example of this banner is at the bottom of this page.
OK, so here's how you can help and win my award:
STEP 1: Go to the website, register and copy the HTML code
STEP 2: Paste the code anywhere on your website (preferable the index page)
STEP 3: E-mail me with your web address and I will add your site to my list of Class Protectors/Samantha Saviors. I will add a link to your site and send you either the Class Protector (BtVS) or Samantha Savior (X-Files) award.

OK, here's the legal stuff. I'm not affiliated with the NCMEC. I'm not doing this with their consent (although I plan to e-mail them and tell them about it). I just figure that lots of people go on the internet every day to look at our sites, and maybe we can help bring some of these kids home by plastering their faces all over the X-Files and Buffy communities.
