Elijah's
Sleeping
My
empty arms are crying
how
I long to hold you tight
I
can hear your cries of hunger
as
I awaken every night
I
still can see your laughing eyes
My
silly bubble-blowing lips
How
I wish just one more time
I
could kiss your tiny fingertips
I
thought that you were resting well
the
morning you slept too long
As
I picked up your lifeless form
I
refused to believe that you were gone
They
told me I did nothing wrong
and
no reason could they find
Then
they put me in a room
so
I could hold you one last time
Too
soon they took you from my arms
and
left an aching in my heart
Losing
you will always be
the
pain that tore my world apart
