This Page is Dedicated to the
memory of my
Grandmother who has gone to
a far better place and who shall be remembered in everyone's heart that
she touched.
Her Name is: Philis
Deane
In the short time that I knew her she became
a very huge part of my life. She taught me many lessons about life
and her memories go on inside everyone that met her. I remember the
struggle I had letting go of my grandmother, in fact I am still struggling
with it as we speak. I wanted her to be at my High School Graduation,
but god had other plans.
All through the time that I knew here I have
one regret I don't think that I showed her how much I LOVED her while she
was here. I can remember as a kid going there and on the weekends
going to church with her and later on that day we would setup a church
service of our own with me reading from the bible. She taped all
of these with her tape recorder and I haven't seen them since she passed
away. She helped reinforce values that to this day remain in effect.
She taught me alot about respect for others and alot of other things that
have provided useful in my daily life.
The following I am about to share with you
was something that I cherish very much on the day of my graduation form
High School I received a card with this attachment inside. Today
I wish to share it with all of you.
Along this road of learning you
Have traveled far, my friends.
But this road has so many miles,
It has its curves and bends.
You've made a good beginning now,
The first few miles are past.
That long, long hill that you once saw;
You've reached the top at last.
So many hands along the way
Have helped so very much.
You've needed understanding and
A strong, yet gentle touch.
You've had the help of family
And teachers, quite a few.
And now you stand with miles behind.
Horizons are brand new.
You've added to your knowledge in
These years now left behind.
Your vision has expanded and
You've challenged heart and mind.
You've grown in body stature,
You've made old friends and new.
And in it all as we have watched,
You've grown up in plain view.
The Lord in His great wisdom made
You in three parts, my friends.
You're body, soul and spirit and
On this your life depends.
You've spent these years developing
Your mind and body strong.
But don't forget your priceless soul
To God in heaven belongs.
Remember God while you are young,
Give Him your youthful years.
He'll stand beside you all your life
Removing doubt and fears.
The day will come when you will see
You made the perfect choice,
Allowing God to guide your life
And listening to His voice.
