The program is done in two stages. In stage I, all of the following are eliminated.
In stage two, if there has been a good response, the salicylate foods may be reintroduced one at a time.
It is recommended that the foods be introduced slowly to test for possible reactions. All facts are explained in detail in the handbook and packet that you receive if you become a member of the association.

Don't leave before you read the section about our sucess. Listed below is a small selection of acceptable foods. Some of them may surprise you.
It was about this time that a friend told me about the Feingold diet. She only knew the basics, but we tried it and I saw immidiate improvement but we kept having setbacks. Then I came accross a magazine arcticle about the Feingold Diet that gave a 1-800 phone number. One month after joining I was a true believer.
For the first time in his life, Ricky told me he loved me instead of shouting, "Don't touch me!". He was calmer, more in control, and discipline was now effective. His pre-school teacher could tell when he ate an inappropriate food simply by looking into his eyes. A chemical reaction from artificial foods dialates his pupils and gives him kind of a "wild" look. What was most impressive is that he no longer hurt other kids for no reason. No more bitting, hitting, punching, kicking, pulling clothes off, etc. He stopped chewing on his clothes and started sleeping some at night.
