What harm could there be?

What harm could there be, you say, in getting your palm read for "the fun of it"? Plenty. I have compiled some verses from the Bible to help you see that God hates anything having to do with fortune telling, sorcery, witchcraft, black magic, etc. If you are a chrisitan and wish to be in God's will, stay away from these practices...they are from satan and they are dangerous.

Leviticus 20:6--"I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people." God clearly speaks against mediumism and spirirtualism here. He says He will turn away from those who practice it.
Leviticus 20:27--"A man or a woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own hands." God is speaking to the Levites and Isrealites here. To give a little background, He wants them to be set apart; different. They are not to be "of the world". This applies to us in modern times too. As chrisitans, we are to live lives that are set apart or different from the world. The punishment for any Isrealite that practiced mediumism and spiritualism was death by stoning.
Deuteronomy 18:10&11--"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, or practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead." Once again, God is telling the Levites that these practices are evil and will not be tolerated. (The Levites were a tribe of Isreal. The holy priests were chosen from this group.)
2 Chronicles 33:6--"He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, provoking Him to anger." This is the story of a king named Mannasseh. This clearly shows that these practices are detestable to God and that they make Him angry.
Isaiah 8:19--"When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living." Why indeed. When you need help or guidance, is it not better to consult the most high God, creator of all you see, than to seek after those who are already dead. The dead cannot do anything for you. They have already gone on to where they will spend eternity. I pray that each of you choses the right path and spends eternity with Christ.
Acts 16:16-18 --"Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicited the future.....This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, 'These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.' She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, 'In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!' At that moment the spirit left her." From this passage we can deduce that those who truly tell the future are demon possessed. Is it easier to accept that a human being could predict the future or that satin could control someone and use them for the purpose of misleading others. You make the call for yourself here.
Galations 5:19--"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual imorality, impurity and debauchery; idolitry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness; orgies and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." This, simply put, says that these practices are SIN and those who practice them will not go to Heaven. Revelation 21:8 & 22:15--"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. Outside (of Heaven) are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexualy immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood." Simple! If you turn away from God and accept and embrace what is of satin, you will spend eternity with him (satan not God).
