1. Before Debut
  • 13th July, 1965
    • Akina was 53cm tall, weighted 3.25kg when she was born at 7:30am in Kiyose City, Tokyo, Japan.
    • The Nakamoris have 6 children. Akina is the fifth child.
    • Her parents gave all the children names beginning with 'Aki'.
      • Brothers : Akinori and Akihiro
      • Sisters : Akie, Akiko, and Akiho
  • 1969
    • Akina started taking her ballet lessons when she was 4.
    • She learned ballet for 10 years.
  • April, 1970
    • Akina attended the Yurikago Nursery School.
  • April, 1972
    • Akina studies at the Kiyose Elementary School.
    • She wanted to be a singer when she wrote her Primary one composition "My future dream".
  • Akina likes singing when she was a child. When Akina was young, the person she watched was the real performer, Momoe Yamaguchi. A great performer touches everybody. Every time she watched the music programme on TV, she was always convinced that she wanted to become a pop singer.
  • April, 1978
    • Akina started to study at the Kiyose Junior High School with her siblings.
    • "Star Tanjo" contestant form was sent.
  • 2nd September, 1979
    • Akina's first attempt at "Star Tanjo" at Sogo Department Store in Tokyo when she was 14.
    • She sang Iwasaki Hiromi's "Natsu ni dakarete" and became one of the 10 qualified contestants.
  • October, 1979
    • She sang Iwasaki Hiromi's "Natsu ni dakarete" again in the singing contest at Kourakuen Hall.
    • She lost because the judges thought the song was too mature for her age.
  • September 1980
    • Akina's second attempt at "Star Tanjo".
    • She sang Matsuda Seiko's "Aoi Sangosho" and entered the preliminary round again
  • October, 1980
    • Akina sang Matsuda Seiko's "Aoi Sangosho" again during the preliminary round but she lost again.
  • Summer 1981
    • Akina's third attempt at "Star Tanjo".
    • Akina sang Takeuchi Mariya's "September" for her first round and Yamaguchi Momoe's "Yume Annai Nin" for her second round.
  • 11 July, 1981
    • Akina sang Yamaguchi Momoe's "Yume Saki Annai Nin" during the contest.
    • The judges gave her a total of 392 out of 400.
  • 18 November, 1981
    • Akina sang Yamaguchi Momoe's "Yume Saki Annai Nin" again at "Stat Tanjo".
    • After the contest, Akina received 11 name cards of different recording companies that were interested in signing her on as their artist.
    • She transfered to Meidai Nakano High School.
  • March, 1982
    • Akina went to America to have her studio recording of her debut single and album and filming her first video clip. she stayed there from 11th March to 16th March.
    • She stayed there for 5 days.
