CHANGING PARTNERS -- In ''Labs Kita,'' Jolina plays the tomboyish Bujoy. Marvin is Ned, the songwriter in search of an inspiration. Bujoy and Ned are ''barkada,'' the best of buddies. In fact, there's a ladder connecting their bedrooms. Actually, Bujoy has a secret crush on Ned. But she's afraid to show it lest their friendship is ruined. Enter Mary Anne (Vanessa del Bianco), Bujoy's pretty and very lady-like cousin. Ned finds an inspiration to the song he long wanted to write. Bujoy ''gladly'' plays bridge to Mary Ann and Ned. Smiling outside but hurting inside. Enter Cenon (Gio Alvarez), Ned's band member, who is in love with Bujoy. Ned is only too willing to find a partner for the tomboyish Bujoy. Everything seems okay on the surface. But the four young people feel and know something is amiss. In the end they realize they aren't meant for each other. Mary Anne is for Cenon. Bujoy is, after all, for Ned. Ned finishes writing the beautiful song. Jolina is Marvin's inspiration, his ''labs.''
PARENTAL OBJECTIONS -- It appears everything is not coming up roses for the Jolina-Marvin loveteam. Jolina's parents are reportedly not happy with the oncam relationship. They feel Marvin isn't the right guy for their daughter, citing this and that minus factor in his character and background. Jolina and Marvin admit they are dear friends, very close to each other. But remember they have a film coming up. Still the fans are thrilled when they make ''lambing'' and ''bola'' to each other in front of the camera. Of course they are too young for a serious commitment. Even their screen pairing isn't tested yet. Jolina might still be paired with, say, Bojo Molina or Jericho Rosales. While Marvin might team up with the likes of Angelika or Carol Banawa.
SOUNDTRACK -- Here's a related item on the Jolina-Marvin starrer. Star Records has come out with an official soundtrack for the forthcoming Star Cinema movie ''Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?'' starring Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin. Now available on cassette and CD format, ''Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?'' soundtrack has ten songs with a bonus track on CD. The soundtrack features two new groups who recently inked a recording contract under Star Records. One of the groups is Jeremiah, an all-male vocal group composed of vibrant young men, who performed ''Nang-hihinayang,'' the carrier single of the soundtrack. Jeremiah is composed of Al Nievera, Glen Gonzalez, Olan Crizaldo (who does leads vocals on ''Nanghihinayang''), Peewee Polintan and Froilan Calixto. Larry Hermoso, composer of the song ''Nang-hihinayang'' and manager of Jeremiah, chose these five young men because of their distinct talents.
