No wonder everyone is marveling about Marvin these days? Considering all the great things happening to him these days--all that fame has yet to change him. I can tell by the way he talks that he's struggled the long, hard way from his bartending/waitering days to now where he has it made. He is someone who not only looks ahead but also manages to look back!
At the moment, he remains unpretentious about all the good reviews he's been getting. He feels great that people like his performance in the miniseries. "I owe a lot to Direk Olive Lamasan. She really makes me piga, so that I bring out all my emotions. Sometimes I get so carried away by the dramatic scenes, kaya even when I'm home already, I still feel depressed. Masyado kong na-internalize 'yung role ko.''
He admitted, though, that it's harder to make people laugh than to make them cry. ''The way I see it, you're really a good actor if you can do light movies and comedy with ease. That's where the audience will see how natural you are. In heavy drama, it's already expected of you to be intense and hysterical. 'Acting na acting,' as they say. While in comedy, you have to act as if you're not acting at all.''
''Just like your movies with Jolina?'' I countered.
''Yup!'' he grinned. ''Our fans need not worry 'cause we'll be doing a movie again as a love team early next year. Even if we have separate projects now, our special bond will always remain intact.''
Jolina and Marvin may be each other's best, but what Marvin's got on his own is something too marvelous for words as well.
