Jolina pouts as she looks at Marvin, ''Ganyan yan.
They make an interesting pair because of their subtle similarities and stark differences. Jolina looks hip in her white shirt and apron pants, while Marvin looks dapper in his slacks and polo shirt. But the closeness and affection is definitely there.
Jolina smiles, ''We talk on the phone for five hours.
They both enjoy watching ''MTV Asia,'' ''Onli In Da Pilipins'' and movies at HBO and Cinemax channels. They both love mellow and sentimental songs. And Jolina often makes a special selection of her choice sentimental songs for Marvin. They appear to be too compatible. Don't they ever have something to fight about?
Marvin laughs, ''Frustrated directors kami.''
Jolina agrees, ''Mahilig kaming mag-create ng scene at minsan pinag-aawayan namin yon, na dapat dito yung crane at dito yung camera.''
Marvin interjects, ''Matampuhin yan!''
Jolina points out, ''Tampong pa-cute lang naman.
They are both practical and business-minded. Jolina started selling hotdogs at a small stand in Quezon Memorial Circle as a young girl with her family while Marvin worked in a restaurant. Now, Jolina spends most of her free time making accessories and dressing up her mannequin at Jolina's Fashion Gallery in Project 6, Quezon City. Marvin is still mulling over the possibility of opening his own bar/restaurant.
As tokens of their friendship, Jolina cherishes the white-gold necklace from Marvin and Marvin adores the boxer shorts with miniature people from Jolina. Sometimes they tease each other about the future and talk about making a lifetime commitment.
They dream of getting married at Barasoain church and going to Mexico on their honeymoon. But Jolina hates tacos and loves Japanese food, so Tokyo might be a better destination if Marvin approves.
Their chemistry onscreen is strong and natural but did they really like each other in the beginning? What were their first impressions of each other?
Jolina snorts, ''Mayabang!'' Sabi niya: 'Uy, nakita kita sa UP.'
Jolina corrects him, ''Wala akong nakitang dumaan. You have to adjust to their needs. Don't be selfish.''
Marvin agrees, ''To be a good partner, kailangan sumabay ka.
Indeed, having each other around makes work more enjoyable. The bruises on Marvin's arm can attest to that!
