"After OIDP went off the air, I thought I won't be that visible anymore on TV. What I'm not aware of, ABS-CBN had a bigger plan for me: a new mini-series, SSKMA," relates the image model of Blowing Bubbles. And because of the good reviews, the show has become a ten-week stint.
"I'm very thankful to Direk Olivia Lamasan because I've learned na ipinaglaban niya ako for that project. And I hope I didn't disappoint her. Because of this good break, I promised ABS-CBN that I wil be more dedicated to my work," he tells us. After Gimik, the Movie, he will soon start his second movie with Jolina, a follow-up to their Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang.
Marvin admits that his relationship with Jolina is getting better. "We're still the best of friends," he says, "although ayokong magsalita ng tapos. Only time can tell. Okey naman ang working relationship namin. Okey na rin kami ng parents niya."
With his hard-earned money, Marvin, with four other partners, recently bought a 5-hectare farmland in Baguio. It's now being developed as a cornucopia field for carrots, potatoes and other vegetables. "I have no idea whatsoever about farming, but I'm slowly learning."
This Christmas, he hopes to spend the holidays abroad with his family. "Hing hindi ako papayagan ng schedule ko, kahit out-of-town na lang, siguro Baguio or Subic. Basta kasama ko lang ang family ko. Come January, Marvin will be the featured artist in a pilot episode for Star Drama Presents. Then he will proceed to Japan for a series of shows.
