Marvin has developed a liking for that rare art on TV these days: hosting. Just when everyone just wants to wing the "mechanics of the contest" or promote his next movie, Marvin seriously wants to host. He wants to own the tube in the same way as Martin Nievera used to do in MAD. Last year, when he pinch-hit for Martin, along with Jolina, everyone saw a masa Taglish Martin and Pops---same rapport, same fun, same undercurrent of romance.
Marvin dances a mean hiphop, and rehearses steps in record time (20 minutes before actual performance). Combined with Jolina's singing prowess, the team-up lit up Martin's Saturdays for weeks. Marvin and Jolina are praying that similar young Penthouse live might be conceived, with them at that hosting sofa.
But the real Marvin Agustin is so much more than a kid blinded by Jolina's luminous hairclips, a young man trapped in soap's improbable travails, a rebel actor who challenges the limits of his range, and a budding TV raconteur-host.
