I read an article today by a 14 year old girl in the 9th grade. She wrote about her so-called beliefs in the Death Penalty and the methods of execution.
Her point was that she believed that if you kill someone, you then should in turn be killed by either the gas chamber, electric chair or by lethal injection. But, mainly by lethal injection because it was painless and the condemned just goes to sleep. Well, for one the gas chamber is no longer used in the U.S. and the electric chair is on its way out, and second, how the world can anyone say for a certainty that lethal injection isn't painful? Have they experienced it first hand? And does this girl know what kind of chemicals and poisons they use to create the drugs to kill the condemned? If not, then maybe the young child needs to do more research to back up the basis of her article.
And for any other teenager or young adult who believes in the death penalty without knowing all of the statistics and points of concerning the death penalty. I ask you as a death row inmate to seek the information and study it, weigh the pro’s and con’s of the situation and if you still find America' s death penalty justified then fine. But, please don't go out and say you believe in the death penalty without understanding everything about it.
There's another point I want to make to the young girl, (as well as to all the young people who read this). Not only is the death penalty for adults but, its for teenagers ! Surprised? Well, don’t be cause its been going on for a long time. Its one of America's daily little secrets exposed. No-one is safe from the death penalty when they make a mistake. I was only 17 years old when I was arrested and charged with capital murder. And 19 when I was sentenced to death!
Thank You
Sincerely Yours
