Ghosts Of Canada

       At night when you are asleep, everything isn't as peaceful as it seems. Lost souls (ghosts) may be visiting you and watching your every single move, just waiting to reveal themselves. Sometimes when you are alone, you better think twice..

What are some famous haunted places?

       In the town of Niagra on the Lake, Ontario, a very secretive soldier, who was brutally tortured years ago, haunts the Angel Inn. Captain Swayze hid in the building's storage room when it was under siege until he was found. Even with no one left to talk to, he will never give up the military secrets that he keeps. In Ontario's Angel Inn, Swayze is still roaming it's halls.

       Fort San of Fort Qu'Appelle was built for victims of the outbreak of Tuberculosis (an infectious disease). Fort San also carries many ghosts of patients still awaiting treatment and even a dead handyman who can still be seen with his knife. The patients were kept in isolation in this sanitarium and will be for a very long time to come.

        Years ago, a tragic train wreck in the 700 foot Blue Tunnel left only one ghost behind. This tunnel runs under the Welland Cannel in St.Catherine's, Ontario and it has been abandoned. The Blue Tunnel is a “paranormal hotspot” and misty spirits, even sounds have been reported coming from the tunnel. Let's hope that these restless ghosts can find peace someday!

Who are some famous ghosts?

       You've heard the story...someone goes into a dark room with only one candle lit and a mirror. Then they chant “Bloody Mary” 3-100 times. Some people say that you go insane, some people say that she will scratch your eyes out, and some people say that she will pull you into the mirror, never to be seen again. All we truly know is that Bloody Mary is evil. Even though her murder is not a mystery, her ghost still is.

       On a dark, stormy night, when you see a forlorn figure in the distance on the road, it's probably the vanishing hitchiker. When people see this, the ghost appears as a real person, so they decide to give the lonely figure a ride home. Sometimes the ghost leaves something in the car so the car driver visits the house where the ghost said to go, only to discover that they died years ago. So be careful next time you're picking someone up!

Is there such thing as ghosts?

       Yes, actually there is such thing as ghosts. They are still human beings, just not in physical bodies. Really, ghosts can be anything from mad to happy. Usually they are trying to send you a message, or sometimes they are unaware that they are dead and are confused on what to do. This is known as “Focus 23”, a stage where they are stuck and totally alone. Most important of all, you have nothing to fear of them.

What is some proof that ghosts are real?

      Everybody always needs to see or hear some kind of proof to know if something is real or not, and there is some proof that ghosts exist. There are pictures, but some of them are made to fool people and are fake. Then there are videos and soundclips, which I think are the most real. Overall, ghosts exist in some ways and don't exist in some ways...it's just up to you to believe it!

       So ghosts aren't really always here to scare us, and we aren't always alone. The most important thing to remember is to have no fear. Who knows, maybe you could encounter a ghost tonight...
