July 2006 Pictures

**(there's more than 1 page of pics now, so scroll down to the bottom of this page & click NEXT for more July pics!**

Well, I decided to go back to this format- making "real" webpages instead of just a link to our pics on Shutterfly. It's just that I take SOOO many pictures these days, it'd be easier for others wanting to view our pics to see our favorites on a page (or two or three) instead of wading through hundreds of pictures on Shutterfly. Making these webpages takes a lot more of my time though & that could become a problem, especially when school starts back up. So we shall see how long this lasts! I'll at least give it a try! <bgsound src="godbless.mid">

If you're on dial-up, these pages will take a long time to download. If I'm only going to be sharing a few pictures, I want them to be high quality. ;)

For those of you wanting to see more pictures, here's the link to our July folder on Shutterfly:

7-1-06  Meet our new kitties! Izzy, short for Isabella Elizabeth, is on the left. Kenton found her in the garage when we got home from our trip to Ohio. She was wild- hissing & scratching & did not want to be touched or bothered by us humans. It didn't take her long to get used to us though & now she'll fall asleep, on her back, in my hands. And she purrs & is very content here. Well, the little one on the right, that's Duma. We just got him today. Kenton thought Izzy needed a friend, so we found her one at the Humane Society! Izzy's worn herself out playing with Duma today. He's pretty sweet.

You know, if you ask me, it's harder to take a picture of 2 playful kittens than 5 rambunctious children. I finally put these two in Josiah's swing & since they had nowhere to go, I was able to get a picture of them.

Okay, now normally you'd see CHILDREN on my webpage, not kittens. It's just that they're brand new so I had to photograph them. More pictures to come! It's only the 1st of the month! :) Check back frequently!

July 2, 2006- Kenton works the next two nights so we did our fireworks tonight. They started off with all of their chairs in a row. Gabe & Millie did not really care for the fireworks. They kept backing up & backing up until their chairs were right in front of the bushes next to our house.

Here are the 3 children that enjoyed the fireworks. The other two are in the darkness behind them.

Gracie and a sparkler. Alek & Gracie were the only 2 that wanted to play with the sparklers. Oh well. ;)

July 4, 2006- Happy Fourth of July!
Okay, so I just forget. It's equally difficult getting a picture of 5 children vs. 2 kittens.

7-4-06 Kenton requested to be cancelled his first four hours tonight & got it! Up until then, I wasn't sure what we were going to do tonight. So we headed off to the parade, which started at 6pm, and then over to our church! We missed the BBQ but made it in time to watch End of the Spear. I didn't get to watch it all because Josiah was getting loud. After that, they had a dessert social. Shortly after that, a lot of the church members set off fireworks in the lower parking lot. We had an awesome view of the city. We could see fireworks going off for miles and the city's display over the water. Here's a picture of a view from the church (looking towards the west- church faces north) as the sun was setting.

And once again, Millie & Gabe chickened out & wanted to play with Legos inside while the fireworks were going off. So I let 'em. I could see them through the window not far from where we were standing. And not too much later, they all got cold & wanted to play with the Legos. We left not too long after that. Here's a picture of Alek & Gracie watching the fireworks go off. I had a lot of trouble getting my camera to focus in such low light so I didn't get very many shots- and not very good ones either. Oh well. ;)
