23 February Yesterday the Mangatawhiri Meltdown was a blast! And finishing 3rd in the junior under 19 category was the Ace Team [Alex, Chris, and Evan]. We managed to do 11 laps in the 6 hours, despite suffering from {1}A sore shoulder [Evan, lap 1] , {2}. A buckled wheel {myself lap 1] and {3}.Cramp [Myself, lap 3&4 losing 12 minutes and any chance of 12 laps]. But all in all it was a fun day!

19 February 03 This Saturday the 2003 Mangatawhiri Meltdown kicks off, and in amongst the 80 or so teams will be myself, Chris Valter and Evan Wheaten competing in the u19 category. The race starts at noon till 6pm, racing around a 6.5k circuit in the mighty Hunua ranges. We have 6 hours to go around as many times as possible!

November 10 Auckland MTB Champs 02 Race 3- Riverhead Dispite falling off 4 times [twice over the handlebars] and with a bike so muddy I couldn't pedal I still managed to win the Junior U19 Rec category with a time of 1h and 30s and 10th in the Rec class. Go to events page for details.

July 02 Suzy Pryde [Avanti] picked up the silver medal in the woman's cross country at Manchester despite falling off on a tight corner and injuring her wrist. Cashi Laukes [Cannondale] finished 4th in the men's race 6 minutes behind the winner. He led for half of the first lap at Rivington but the Canadians came out too strong. The world number one [Trek] won the race in 1h 52m with an average speed of 20kph.

29 July 02 Three New Zealanders will compete in the mountain biking cross-country tonight at the Commonwealth Games. They are confident of a good finish but the course is quite tough with many uphills although it isn't very technical. The woman's race starts around 9pm and the men's at midnight. [NZ time]

17 July 02 Colin McRae has signed a deal to ride Kona Mountain bikes and later this year a limited addition McRae model will be made. It will feature custom graphics, Shimano groupset, Suntour suspension and a aluminium frame.
