Ancient Words For Today - 6

I am continually amazed by the things which God has made. The first time I visited Yosemite park I was awestruck by the grandeur of the mighty granite towers rising high above the valley floor, framed with trees and marsh grasses swaying in the breeze. Birds were singing, wildlife was thriving and for that moment, everything seemed to coexist in a perfect peaceful harmony.

How we all long to have peace and harmony in our lives and in the world. But the reality is that the whole creation is in a fallen state, much different than the way God created it. We are able only to find brief glimpses of the peaceful world that God intended. The chaos we see in the world is the result of the original rebellion of Adam, the first man God created, against God's perfect order. All of Adam's descendants, including us, inherited Adam's rebellious and sin-prone nature, which ultimately results in death.

True peace only can come from having a living relationship with the Prince of Peace, our savior Jesus Christ. Jesus said:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Believing in Jesus and following His leading for our life brings us peace with God and a supernatural peace to sustain us in this sin-filled fallen world. Jesus our savior has reconciled us to the Father, and we are no longer under the curse of death. As believers, we will have life everlasting in God's presence in a new heaven and earth that God will make, where righteousness dwells. Thank you Jesus!!!!!

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.
