In the broadest sense, all those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord have committed to Him, their way to eternal life. We are assured of the reality of eternal life and know that we will spend eternity in His presence because we have believed His promises to us concerning eternal life. Below are a just a few of them, beginning with most well known and precious promise:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned.. John 3:16-18
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I
will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:37-40
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. John 10:27-30
And Paul, the apostle, confidently proclaimed: But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10
So, as we trust in the promise of salvation Jesus has given to us who believe in Him, we gain the confident assurance of God's great love for us and that we have received His gift of eternal life and will live in His presence forever. We can also trust Him to guide us on our way through life as He works out His unique plan for each of us and brings good works from our lives.
God bless you as you walk closely with Him and trust Him to complete His work in your life.
