Ancient Words For Today - 84

It is wonderful to know that we become a new creation of God when we ask Jesus into our heart. When Jesus enters into our life, a supernatural change immediately takes place as the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us. Many new things are initiated in us as a result of our new spiritual life in Christ. The following Bible passages express some of those things that are new and renewed when Jesus becomes the Lord of our life:

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh... Ezekiel 11:19

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Romans 7:6

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him... Colossians 3:10

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:3-7

We have so much for which to be thankful to God, but most importantly our new life (eternal) through our faith in Christ. As we start the new year let us remember who we are in Christ, and the wonderful promises and privileges we have through faith in Him. And let us also remember that we are ambassadors for Christ. As His representatives on earth, let us live in the ways pleasing to Him. And let us represent His loving and graceful character through our love for the brethren and others, so that those who do not know Jesus might see the reality of His transforming work in our lives and be drawn to Him and the Gospel message.

God bless and prosper you, to accomplish His will, as you continue to walk in His love.
