Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town.
She unpacked her things with such great ease.
How wonderful it was to have her own room.
There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy.
On the first day of school, everything went great.
She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be,
To be known in this school you had to have a clout,
There was only one problem stopping her fate.
"Well I just won't tell them the entire truth.
Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night.
Excited, she got ready for the big event.
Well the pizza was good, and the party was great,
For Jeff was half drunk by this time.
Then the room filled with smoke and Jeff took a puff.
Now Jeff was ready to ride to the point.
They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride,
They finally made it to the point at last,
A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all
"Perhaps my parents were right....maybe I am too young.
With all of her might, she pushed Jeff away:
Jeff cranked up the engine and floored the gas.
As Jeff drove on in a fit of wild anger,
She begged and pleaded for him to slow down,
"Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied.
Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash.
She doesn't remember the force of impact.
She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble,
Voices she heard...a few words at best.
Then wondered to herself if Jeff was all right,
She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad.
These voices echoed inside her head,
They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do.
"But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried.
Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done
"Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim,
"Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied,
Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?"
But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes.
A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best
She looked at the man with eyes so sad.
This story is sad and unpleasant but true,

Life Quest Commentary
What is it that you are searching for in your Life?
Do you have big plans for the future? Are you seeking riches, fame, popularity, power, the most perfect mate, designer clothes, a bigger home, culinary treasures?
Is seeking after God and having a right relationship with Him anywhere in your plans?
Should it be?
Jesus said,
"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after these things do the gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father kwoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:31-33
The important question is, "Are you seeking God and His righteousness? Have you understood that Jesus loves you and took your place?
He died on the cross, taking the penalty for your sins upon Himself, so that you could receive forgiveness of your sins and the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus!
If you have understood that Jesus died in your place and have already received His gift of eternal life, Praise the Lord!!
If not, why not receive Him right now? When you do, you will find that your search for that which can make you happy will come to an end. In Jesus there is happiness and fullness of joy for evermore!
We encourage you to refer to the LIFEQUEST "Food for Thought" topics of Salvation and Gospel which will further explain what He has done for you, how much God loves you and show you how to receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
God bless you and have a great day!
