Chapter Forty-One: | |||
JC shut the door leading to the back of the bus and sat down with a smile on his face. "What are you so happy about?" Hallie asked, noting JC's grin. "Justin and Ali," JC said, putting his feet across the couch and stretching out. "They're adorable." "They're making out right now, am I correct?" Hallie asked, flipping the channels on the TV. "Yep. All I heard from the phone conversation was that Kevin was cheating on Ali with some girl named Kristin," JC said. "You're worse than Chris when it comes to channel surfing. Will you stay on one station? Like MTV?" "No I will not, I could miss something," Hallie said, never giving up the remote. Then she realized what JC had just said and stopped flipping. "Kevin's cheating on Ali?" "With a girl named Kristin, yeah. Who is Kristin, anyway?" "Kristin is his ex-girlfriend, she dated Kevin for like, six and a half years before Ali came along. So I guess Justin and Ali are together now, right?" "Yep. At least, I hope so. His tongue's down her throat so I really hope so." Hallie scrunched up her nose in disgust. "Justin's tongue is down Ali's throat. Eww. I couldn't stand it when it was Kevin's... but Justin's? Yuck." ~*~*~ "AJ, this is not going right, we have to see a little less of each other," Cathy said. "I mean, it's for the best. I just feel like you're smothering me lately." Cathy sighed. "I feel like such a dork, I'm talking to myself," she said to her image in the mirror. "I'll tell him tomorrow." ~*~*~ "...Nick grinned, seeing Lina for the first time in years..." Lily typed on her laptop. She yawned, becoming bored with sitting at a desk for five hours typing and looking for decent pictures of the guys that didn't have I Love Nick or some stupid copyright symbol on them that she could use on the website. "Hey sweets, what're you doing?" Nick asked, kissing Lily on top of her head and attempting to look at the laptop that was balanced on her lap. Lily shut the laptop with a click. "Nothin," she said, turning around and smiling at Nick. Nick raised his eyebrows, looking from the laptop to his girlfriend's smiling face. "Whatever. Me and Howie and Jamie were gonna play some b-ball, you wanna join us?" "Sure, I'd love to, just lemme save what I'm doing on this thing, I'll be down to the gym in a few," Lily said, turning back to her laptop as Nick walked out of the room. "I am gonna find out what she's doing on that thing," Nick muttered to himself as he dribbled the basketball down the hall, "if it's the last thing I do." ~*~*~ "Will you marry me?" Kevin asked the girl sitting on the bed. She was clearly shocked, she didn't say anything for a few moments. After she had regained her composure, she threw her arms around his neck and began crying, saying, "Yes!" over and over. When Kevin slipped the ring on her finger, she stood up. The girl had short blonde curly hair, hair that belonged to Kristin. Ali awoke with a gasp. She sat up quickly, hitting her head on the top of the bunk which she was currently sharing with Justin. Justin let out a soft moan when Ali moved, but didn't wake up. Ali carefully let herself down from the bunk, trying not to wake anyone on the bus. She walked to the kitchen where she got herself a bottle of water and sat down at the table. She glanced at the clock, which read 4:27AM, and back at the traffic on the not-so-crowded New Jersey highway. The calendar read that they would be in New York City the next day; that was when Brian and herself were supposed to meet in Central Park before the 'N Sync concert at Madison Square Garden (A.N. Yea, I know 'N Sync didn't play MSG in '99, but they do now). Ali glanced down the hallway to the bunks and saw Hallie's arm hanging out of the side of hers, which was underneath Joey's. She sighed at how happy Hallie and Brian were, until that night... Hallie was dancing around like a maniac, but she looked good doing it. Ali and Kevin were dancing near her and Kevin looked over at Hallie. "Wow, she's a good dancer," he stated, watching Hallie get down. Ali and Kevin were happy as well... They were getting married, planning their wedding... The color was gonna be baby blue, she thought, glancing at hers and Justin's bunk and pulling her feet under her blue cloud pj's. Baby blue, it figures, that would have to be Justin's favorite color... I can't believe everything we had went down the drain just like THAT. And that dream... Why was it so real? |
