SAIFA

( Rolling Wave / To Tear Into Pieces )

 Stances:

Heisoku dachi ( feet together )

Shiko dachi ( sumo stance )

Zenkutsu dachi ( forward stance )

Sanchin dachi ( pigeon-toed stance )

Reverse neko ashi dachi ( reverse cat stance )

Neko ashi dachi ( cat stance )

Punches / Strikes:

Ura uchi ( backfist strike )

Morote zuki ( double punch )

Tetsui uchi ( hammerfist strike )

Shita zuki ( short punch )

Seiken zuki ( straight punch )

Blocks:

Teisho uke ( palm heel block )

Haito uke ( ridge-hand block )

Kick:

Mae geri ( front kick )

Start in heiko dachi facing north, bow.

(1) Step right foot forward two shoulder widths, turn to face the left (west), drag left foot up to heisoku dachi, right fist on right hip palm facing left, left hand open palm against front of right fist.

(2) Look to the right (north) and pull both hands onto left hip rotating right fist so palm faces down; step left foot back into shiko dachi (facing west but keep looking north),left hand sweeps back and up, and then does a  descending teisho uke finishing next to right elbow; right ura uchi (to the north) while left hand retracts to stomach, fingers pointing up, palm facing right.

(3) Step left foot forward two shoulder widths, turn to face the right (east), drag right foot up to heisoku dachi, left fist on left hip palm facing right, right hand open palm against front of left fist.

(4) Look to the left (north) and pull both hands onto right hip rotating left fist so palm faces down; step right foot back into shiko dachi (facing  east but keep looking north),right hand sweeps back and up, and then does a descending teisho uke finishing next to left elbow; left ura uchi (tothe north) while right hand retracts to stomach, fingers pointing up, palm facing left.

(5) Step right foot forward two shoulder widths, turn to face the left (west), drag left foot up to heisoku dachi, right fist on right hip palm facing left, left hand open palm against front of right fist.

(6) Look to the right (north) and pull both hands onto left hip rotating right fist so palm faces down; step left foot back into shiko dachi (facing west but keep looking north),left hand sweeps back and up, and then does a descending teisho uke finishing next to right elbow; right ura uchi (to the north) while left hand retracts to stomach, fingers pointing up, palm facing right.

(7) Step left foot up to right foot to heisoku dachi (facing north), drop left hand next to left leg palm facing backwards. Step left foot two shoulder widths to the left, raise right foot next to left knee, left jodan haito uke, right descending teisho uke, with right hand finishing behind your body, look to the right (east).

(8) Look to the front, right mae geri, step two shoulder widths to the right, raise left foot next to right knee, right jodan haito uke, left descending teisho uke, with left hand finishing behind your body, look to the left (west).

(9) Look to the front, left mae geri, step left foot beck to right foot forward zenkutsu dachi, reach forward right hand over left, grab opponent's collar, pull both hands back to both hips, then morote zuki at shoulder level.

(10) Bring both hands back to forehead, palms facing forward, left hand open, right hand closed, slow right tetsui uchi to left palm at groin level sweeping hands slowly out and down in a large circle.

(11)  Push hands to the left (still at groin level), front foot mawate (turning 180° to the left to left foot forward zenkutsu dachi facing south), halfway through the turn hands should come to your right hip, at the end of the turn thrust the hands out (right hand over left) and grab opponent's collar, pull both hands back to both hips, then morote zuki at shoulder level.

(12)  Bring both hands back to forehead, palms facing forward, right hand open, left hand closed, slow left tetsui uchi to right palm at groin level sweeping hands slowly out and down in a large circle.

(13)  Raise right foot to left knee, raise right fist over and behind head, left hand to left hip, turn 180° to the right (to face north), step right foot down to right foot forward sanchin dachi, right jodan tetsui uchi, kiai.

(14) Open right hand and turn palm facing upwards, turn palm downwards and grab opponent's hair, pull back to right hip keeping right hand clenched and  palm facing downwards, left shita zuki.

(15)  Raise left foot to right knee, raise left fist over and behind head, right hand to right hip, turn 180° to the left (to face south), step left foot down to left foot forward sanchin dachi, left jodan tetsui uchi, kiai.

(16)  Open left hand and turn palm facing upwards, turn palm downwards and grab opponent's hair, pull back to left hip keeping left hand clenched and palm facing downwards, right shita zuki.

(17)  Step right foot forwards to right foot forward sanchin dachi, turn right fist so palm faces down and extend right arm, close left fist (still on left hip and still palm facing down).

(18)  Left chudan seiken zuki.

(19)  Step left foot across in front of right foot, retract left fist to left hip, turn 180° to the right (to face north) in right foot forward reverse neko ashi dachi (right foot flat on the floor, left foot balancing on the ball of the foot behind and slightly to the left of the right heel), reach forwards with right hand grabbing opponent's hair and left hand grabbing  opponent's beard.

(20)  Extend left foot behind two shoulder widths, drag right foot back to right foot forward neko ashi dachi, pull left hand back to left hip and right hand back to left armpit (still holding opponent's head), rotate hands in a small circle right hand across in front of chest and then down to right hip, left hand up to left shoulder; push both hands forward with palms facing forward.

  Step right foot back to heiko dachi, bow.
