A FAN'S MEMORY AT THE JAMES DEAN FEST 2005

BY JULIE
DECEMBER 24, 2005

I went to James Dean Fest in June and had a great time. Dismal turn-out, far from what was expected. But it worked out well for those who went. There were no lines, no crowds, and you could get close and talk to all of the celebrities. I was able to speak to and get photos and autographs from Jane Withers, Earl Holliman, Bob Hinkle, Frank Mazzola, Dennis Stock, Phil Stern, George Perry, Michael Sheridan, and the most exciting moment of all----meeting Marcus Winslow Jr. That was just overwhelming. I also sat in a 550 Porshe Spyder reproduction, almost exactly like Jimmie's. I went to the museums, payed my respects at his grave, and saw East of Eden, Rebel Without A Cause, and the US premiere of James Dean Forever Young on a 90 foot outdoor digital screen. It was one of the greatest, most sentimental, and most memorable experiences of my life. I wouldn't trade my memories of that weekend for all the money in the world.
