Here's the Up On The Roof song again, here.Today I was back up on the roof of the California Coast Credit Union headquarters building in Kearny Mesa. That’s another important event so that’s why I’m posting here again. A. O. Reed mechanical contractors may have been on the roof again today and may have forgot to lock the roof door. Security for the building didn’t say to me if any contractor was on the roof but A. O. Reed had a representative in the lobby of the building. He was with other people giving out slices of cake to all the tenants. So A. O. Reed paid for dessert in the lobby and may have been responsible for leaving the door unlocked.
It’s not the representative’s fault. He’s probably not even a mechanical worker or engineer. He probably didn’t know about the door, he appeared to be there for public relations. I took a piece of cake up to the roof just as a form of silent protest to A. O. Reed or whoever left the door unlocked without being up there working on the roof. No one was up there but I walked on the roof and didn’t see any of your guys' aircraft at first. I saw an airliner getting ready for an approach to Lindbergh Field. It was about 1:23 when it was flying east over an area to the south of the building. And about 1:25 it started to head west for the approach to Lindbergh Field. You guys can check that.
Then a couple minutes later I saw what I think were your guys’ small aircraft. And no I didn’t make any gestures to them. I never have. The security manager was in a meeting so I notified the mail room people to tell her I found the door unlocked again and that I was on the roof to see if any workers were there.
Later I took one of the other couriers on a short tour of the roof. I did not mention anything to him about you guys or aircraft. He realized it was probably the only time he would be able to see the roof so he went up with me. We looked at the smoke from the big fire in east county and left.
It looks like I now have to say I will probably never again be on a roof while you guys are watching me in aircraft overhead. Yesterday I said it would be the last time. As in no probablies. But thanks to the bonehead A. O. Reed or their escorts the roof door was unlocked again today. So if it’s unlocked again you guys may see me up there again and I’ll have to post here about it. I wish Cal Coast would simply keep the roof door locked. The security manager appreciates me telling her if the door is unlocked. So heck I’ll just keep checking the door once in a while.
