I'm making another entry because of that small Cessna type plane that flew over me in Santee today. If it wasn't for that plane my last entry for a month or two would have been yesterday's 12 Oct 07. But no, you guys had to put up that small plane. I'm not really sure if it was you guys but the plane flew behind me then along my left in Santee this afternoon. I know you guys have the flyovers almost daily above my car, even on Saturdays in Santee, Kearny Mesa and so on. But the air show was today and I was looking foward to no flyovers because the air show's main events would prevent planes from taking off from Gillespie Field. Unless a plane from Gillespie was part of the air show and I highly doubt that.

As I was entering Santee I thought no planes, so I waved my arm out the window to celebrate the absence of your planes. But I saw the plane sneaking around so I put my arm back in. If it was you guys I bet you had to get special persmission for that flight due to the air show. When making your request I bet it sounded very official and diplomatic. But it probably boiled down to saying something like *since there is cloud cover and the main events of the air show are suspended and since we need to keep up with our practice and training flights please let us make this flight.* And they let you guys of course. Unless they are also you guys. But that's a big reach. But it crossed my mind wondering if you guys thought about recruiting people in charge of the air show to be one of you guys.

But in the Kearny Mesa area of my mail route today no sign of any aircraft except the one Cessna type out of Montgomery Field and it headed away from me. So as I was coming into Kearny Mesa, to and from Cal Coast at Balboa & Genesse, and arriving at Cal Coast headquarters I was waving my hand and fist out the car window in more celebration of no flyovers by you guys or anyone else. All due to the air show. The cloud cover grounded the main events of the air show but the clouds could have gone away at any time.

Now as for that one lone small plane flight I bet it needed special persmission too. Because look at it this way. Say that plane and any others took off without special persmission. If the clouds went away quickly the air show would want to start the main events. Then the air show people would have to radio you guys or whoever and get the dang small aircraft back to Montgomery Field. And that could take half an hour with all the stragglers out there in the air.

So it's probably best to have no flights out of the Field during the air show. But somehow the one plane took off. I realize it was late afternoon and the main events of the air show were scaled way back. But still. You know, I should report here the exact time the small plane took off. Why not, it's not like I'm harrassing it at all. I know it was getting near 5 pm but what was with that small plane in the air during the air show? It was right around 4:40 pm today that small plane was airborne just past the west end of Montgomery Field. As I was watching it from the Cal Coast headquarters parking lot I thought oh no you guys are going to ruin my afternoon if that plane turns north toward me. But it didn't, it flew west (not east as posted before) and continued west out of my way. So it may not have been you guys.

You know, I've been to the air show in past years and when the main events are down due to clouds your're treated with shows that seem like rodeo clown events. And they're low in two ways, low altitude and low quality. Just kidding around. I don't want to tick off any pilots. Some pilots may be assertive to begin with. (Sorry I said pilots may be aggressive, that's not right, it probably only applies to very few.) At any rate you don't want to mess with them. Oh wait some of you guys are pilots. Well too late now, I should have thought of that earlier. And on Monday everything will be back to the annoying small aircraft flyovers above my car.
