I finally located an assistant who promised to call the
production office and see what they could do to be sure I would get in.
I almost fainted a couple of days later when I looked at the
caller ID on my phone when it said...All Girl Production Company. Aaron
introduced himself
as one of Bette's executive producers.
He promptly told me that
they never do that. However, Bette had told him to take care of
me. WOW!!! take care of ...ME!...Aaron instructed us what to do
when we got to the gate of the studio...We were given VIP parking right
next to the studio, right on the lot. We were invited to the stars
commissary for coffee. No one was in there but us. When it
was time to be seated we were escorted to front rowcenter seats...I had
taken a basket of goodies for Bette!...Also a smaller basket for Aaron.
I sell Gold Canyon Candles. They are great candles made in
AZ. I included sents of the candles familiar to
Hawaii...Plumeria,
Gardenia, Pinacolada, Mango, Etc. also Salsa made in AZ out of
Hawiian
Pineapple. Also tortilla chips made in AZ. Then to balance
it out Kona Coffee, Macadamia nuts. And a few other goodies.
I included a note thanking her for making my birthday the most
memorable of my life...saying something about celebrating my home
Arizona and hers Hawaii. Aaron gratefully accepted his basket and
promised to deliver Bette's to her.
We were privileged
to see the 4th show. The one she did on the exercise
equipment. It was great...she was great! I absolutely loved
it. Being there and seeing how it all went together. On the
way home, my husband commented that Bette would probably send me a thank
you note. I brushed it off saying that stars get stuff given to
them all the time. Its not big deal to them. I just wanted
her to know I thought she was absolutely great. Boy I could not
have underestimated her more!....a few days later I received and hand
written note from her thanking
me for the basket and saying she was glad I enjoyed my birthday at her
show. What a DIVA.! My story does not end here.
I had two of her books..."A View From a Broad," and "Baby
Divine." It occurred to me that maybe I could mail them to
Aaron and he would ask her to sign them for me. I called him and
he said he would get it done for me. I sent the books. Insured
and included a box to return them in all stamped and insured too.
After a couple of weeks when I did not hear from them I
called Aaron. He had received the books and given them to
Bette...he said he would check and get back to me. A day or two
later Bette's personal assistant Stacy called me....WHOOOOA! |
