A Memory

Its just a simple memory
something from my past
a memory that comes to me
of which i cant control
a memory that haunts my soul
a memory that runs my life
a memory that has helped me find a different family
a family that truly shows
how strong love can be
a memory that helped me see
there's nothing wrong with me

we can truly become whole

A place where i put my past behind
where i can say what's on my mind

A place to go when you feel so lost
that you want to erase it all at any cost

a place where i do not want to go
where i have to face what i know

a place where all i say is believed
where afterward i feel relieved

a place where i face my fears
that i have hidden for many years

a place that shows a better way
to face and cope with another day
