AMARETTO BARS
(Yield: 2 dozen)

1½ cups self-rising flour
½ cup sugar
¾ cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons amaretto
1 14-ounce can condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
1½ cups flaked coconut
½ cup sliced almonds

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Press into prepared baking pan.

Bake for 20 minutes.

In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and amaretto, stirring until smooth; stir in condensed milk.  Pour over baked crust.  Top with chocolate morsels, coconut, and almonds; press down firmly.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool in pan on a wire rack.  Cut into squares.  Store in refrigerator.
