CHEWY CHOCOLATE DROPS
(Yield: 4½ dozen)

1¼ cups butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups self-rising flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.  Gradually add flour and cocoa powder, mixing thoroughly.  Stir in chocolate morsels.  Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto UNGREASED cookie sheets.

Bake 8 to 9 minutes (DO NOT OVERBAKE).  Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute; remove to a wire rack and cool completely.
