CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES II
(Yield: 8 dozen)

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2¼ cups self-rising flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.  Gradually add flour, beating until smooth.  Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto UNGREASED baking sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.  Remove from baking sheets; cool on a wire rack.
