CHOCOLATE OATMEAL BARS
(Yield: 2½ dozen)

1 cup self-rising flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
½ cup sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg
1¼ cups rolled oats
1 11½-ounce package milk chocolate morsels
¾ cup finely chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.

In a small bowl, combine flour and cinnamon; set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Beat in egg.  Gradually beat in flour mixture.  Stir in oats, ¾ cup chocolate morsels, and ½ cup walnuts.  Spread in prepared baking pan.

Bake 22 to 28 minutes or until the center is set.  Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate morsels; let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny.  Spread morsels; sprinkle with remaining walnuts.  Cool in pan on a wire rack.  Cut into bars.
