CHOCOLATE
OATMEAL COOKIES
(Yield: 5½ dozen)
1½ cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
¼ cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1¼ cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
3 cups rolled oats
1 6-ounce package semisweet chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, butter, egg, water, and vanilla
until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients until well blended.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto UNGREASED baking sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until firm. Remove from baking sheets;
cool on a wire rack.
