CHOCOLATE SYRUP BROWNIES
(Yield: 16 servings)

½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup self-rising flour
¾ cup chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ cup chopped walnuts
Confectioners' sugar
Walnut halves

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.  Stir in flour until blended.  Add chocolate syrup, vanilla, and chopped walnuts; blend thoroughly.  Pour into prepared baking pan; smooth top.

Bake for 35 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.  Loosen cake around the edges; cool in pan on a wire rack.

Dust with confectioners' sugar.  Cut into squares; garnish each brownie with a walnut half.
