CREAM
CHEESE SUGAR COOKIES
(Yield: 2½ dozen)
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups self-rising flour
In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, cream cheese, sugar, egg,
and vanilla; beat until well blended. Add flour, beating until well
blended. Form dough into a ball; wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate
for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray cookie sheets with
non-stick vegetable spray.
On a lightly floured board, roll dough to ¼-inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes. Place, 1-inch apart, on prepared cookie
sheets.
Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Remove from cookie
sheets; cool completely on a wire rack.
