DOUBLE
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
(Yield: 3½ dozen)
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1½ cups self-rising flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray cookie sheets with non-stick
vegetable spray.
In a small saucepan, melt chocolate morsels and butter; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream sugars and butter until light and fluffy;
beat in egg, vanilla, and chocolate mixture. Stir in flour and chocolate
morsels. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until firm. Remove from cookie sheets;
cool on a wire rack.
