EASY ALMOND BARS
(Yield: 2 dozen)

2/3 cup corn syrup
¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
¼ teaspoon almond extract
6 cups corn flakes
¼ cup chopped almonds

Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.

In a large saucepan, combine corn syrup and brown sugar.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved and mixture bubbles.  Remove from heat.  Stir in almond extract.  Add corn flakes and almonds, stirring until well coated.  With the back of a spoon, press the mixture evenly into prepared baking pan.  Let stand until cool.  Cut into 1x½x3-inch bars.
