EASY BROWNIES
(Yield: 32 brownies)

4 1-ounce squares unsweetened
                                     chocolate
2/3 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1¼ cups self-rising flour
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.

In a large saucepan, combine chocolate and shortening; cook, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.  Remove from heat.  Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.  Stir in flour until blended.  Stir in walnuts.  Spread evenly in prepared baking pan.

Bake for 30 minutes or until it starts pulling away from the sides of the pan.  Cool in pan on a wire rack.  Cut into bars; frost if desired.
