LAYER BARS
(Yield: 3 dozen)
¾ cup butter or margarine
1¾ cups graham cracker crumbs
¼ cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1 14-ounce can condensed milk
1 6-ounce package semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a 13x9-inch baking pan, melt butter in the oven. Combine
cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, and sugar; sprinkle over butter. Pour
condensed milk evenly over the crumbs. Sprinkle with chocolate morsels,
then with raisins and nuts. Press down firmly.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in pan
on a wire rack. Cover tightly with aluminum foil; let stand at room
temperature about 8 hours. Cut into bars.
