KENTUCKY BROWNIES
(Yield: 2 dozen)

3 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1-1/3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
Confectioners’ sugar

Preheat oven to 400°F.  Spray a 13x9-inch baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray.

In a heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate and butter.  Remove from heat; beat in sugar.  Let cool.  Beat in eggs, flour, and nuts.  Spread in prepared baking pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.  Cut into squares; roll in confectioners’ sugar.
