MAPLE
BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES
(Yield: 16 squares)
1½ cups firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup butter or margarine, melted
1½ teaspoons maple flavoring
2 eggs
1½ cups self-rising flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
Confectioners’ sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x9-inch baking pan with
non-stick vegetable spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream brown sugar, butter, and maple flavoring
until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after
each addition. Stir in flour, then walnuts. Pour into prepared
baking pan.
Bake 30 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out
clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners’
sugar.
