NUTS-FOR-CHOCOLATE BARS
(Yield: 3 dozen)

2 cups self-rising flour
½ cup sugar
½ cup butter or margarine
1 4-ounce package sweet chocolate
¼ cup butter or margarine
1 cup corn syrup
½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1½ cups chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil.  Grease lightly with butter or margarine.

In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar.  Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Press firmly into the bottom of prepared baking pan.

Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate and butter on HIGH for 1½ minutes or until butter is melted.  Stir until chocolate is completely melted.  Stir in corn syrup, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.  Pour over the crust.  Sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake for 30 minutes or until the filling is set.  Cool in pan on a wire rack.  Remove to a cutting board; cut into bars.
