NUTTY
BUTTERSCOTCH BARS
(Yield: 3 dozen)
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup butterscotch morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 15x10-inch jelly-roll pan
with non-stick vegetable spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light
and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and salt. Gradually beat in flour
until well blended. Press the mixture evenly in prepared jelly-roll
pan. Sprinkle butterscotch morsels and nuts over the mixture; press
lightly.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on
a wire rack. Cut into squares.
